At last we don’t have to keep it quiet, ConverCon is delighted to announce Patricia Scanlon as this year’s conference MC.

I have been involved in the voice technology space for over 20 years, but 2018 is definitely the year that this technology has gone mainstream. It’s currently the hottest area in Artificial Intelligence right now. I’m really excited to hear from the many global experts speaking at the event who are actively bringing this innovative technology into our lives.”
With over 20 years experience in Artificial Intelligence and Speech Recognition Technology, Patricia has spent the majority of her career working on the commercialisation of research innovations. Currently founder and CEO of SoapBox Labs, where the team are building speech technology specifically for young children that will help with learning, literacy and much more. It is their mission to create “the world’s most accurate and accessible speech technology for children” that support reading and language development, children’s voice-control for IoT devices in the home, smart toys and AR/VR experiences.
She holds a Ph.D. in Speech Recognition technology and Machine Learning systems and has held positions with Columbia University in New York, IBM T.J. Watson Research Centre, Trinity College Dublin and Nokia Bell Labs.
Patricia is a great addition to this year’s line-up and will be kicking off the The Conversational Interface Conference on Sept 6th at Microsoft’s HQ, One Microsoft Place, Leopardstown. Speakers at this year ‘s ConverCon include – Max Amordeluso, Lead Evangelist for Amazon Alexa, Alec Saunders, Principal PM for Microsoft Business AI, Stephen Mailey, Senior Interaction Designer at Google and Catalina Butanuru the UK Ambassador for City.ai to name just a few.
